Linshui Liquor Holds An Autumn Brewing Ceremony

On September 8, Linshui Liquor Co., Ltd. held the 2019 Autumn Brewing Ceremony and the 70th Anniversary Mid-Autumn Festival Reunion at Linshui Distillery, Linshui Town, Huoqiu County, Anhui Province. More than 800 guests, including government leaders, industry experts, all employees, some retired employees and their families, clients of jar sealing liquor from Lu’an City and Huoqiu County, were gathered together to witness the autumn brewing ceremony of Linshui Liquor.


During the brewing ceremony, Linshui brewers, young and old, came on the stage for an oath-taking ceremony to carry on the craftsmanship. The best liquor brewed in the pits of Linshui Yuquan dating back to the Ming Dynasty in the autumn of 1986 was auctioned. “RMB 120,000”, “RMB 180,000”, “Any better offer?”...“RMB 300,000”. After competitive bidding, the auction hammer pounded to conclude the deal that No. 72 guest successfully bade a limited jar of best liquor brewed in the pit dating back to the Ming Dynasty in the autumn of 1986 at a transaction price of RMB 300,000 in the auction that started with RMB 100,000. Guests who did not win the bid also purchased the best liquor brewed in autumn in pits dating back to the Qing Dynasty through subscription at the ceremony.


The ceremony also included an interesting liquor king competition that attracted many liquor lovers. A sommelier from the distillery introduced someliquor tasting skills, andthe guests began to evaluate the liquor from color, smell and taste. They scanned a QR code and answered questions. The winner received a“Liquor King” medal at the reunion dinner.


Zhang Yunhe, general manager of Linshui Liquor Co., Ltd., said that this year marked the first autumn brewing ceremony held by Linshui, but more would be held in the future toenable more people tolearn about Linshui and know that Linshui liquor is good liquor that boasts of a long history and a profound culture. He hoped that this activity could carry forward the traditional liquor culture of China.
