Yanfeng Liquor Industry is actively exploring ways to integrate intangible cultural heritage projects with the industry. On November 13, Yanfeng Liquor Industry held its 4th intangible cultural heritage festival and autumn jar sealing ceremony at the Hengzhou Liquor Culture Expo.
At the event, the sacrificial ceremony is the most appealing moment of jar sealing. The solemn melody bestowed sacred power on the Yanfeng people. The Yanfeng people made the guests realize the liquor production philosophy of Yanfeng liquor as the inheritors of two thousand years of crafting spirit, originality, and workmanship, which always follows the ancient process, fermentation in an old cellar, taking cues from nature, and harmony between man and nature, enabling guests to comprehend the Yanfeng people’s artistry in their quest for excellence.
One of the highlights of the event was the jar sealing ceremony of liquor produced from a sealed cellar. “Drink tea picked before Pure Brightness; drink liquor produced from a sealed cellar.” Why does the industry equate “liquor produced from a sealed cellar” to “tea picked before Pure Brightness”? Peng Hong, director of Yanfeng Liquor Design Center, state-level liquor judge, and state-level liquor taster, explained the mystery of “the liquor produced from a sealed cellar” to the guests present on site: Because of their long production cycles and small production volumes, both are rare and valuable. We’d better sip tea of the season and collect liquor in a sealed jar. The aroma of aged liquor lasts for a long time. Consumers may build their own liquor bank at home by collecting a jar each year.
In order to better explore the origins of Hunan’s vintage liquor culture, Yanfeng Liquor Industry also held a special vintage liquor event with the theme of “an exploration journey to Hunan’s first bottle of strong aromatic Daqu liquor”, which attracted many vintage liquor experts and collectors to participate.
