Lidu and Maotai Won Brussels Gold Medals

News On September 9, the result of 2015 (Guiyang) Brussels (Belgium) International Spirits Competition was announced in Guiyang. VATS Group topped the medal table with 11 liquor products listed. Eight liquor products including “Lidu Sorghum Liquor 1955” and “53-degree Feitian Moutai” received the highest awards of this competition - the platinum medals, becoming the biggest dark horses.
The three-day 2015 (Guiyang) Brussels (Belgium) International Spirits Competition was held from August 26 to 28, and 83 world-class wine critics and successful people rated the silver, gold and platinum medals by appraising and scoring the liquors in the form of blind tasting. Platinum medal was the highest award of the competition and about 1% of the contestants receive this honor every year.
In this spirits competition, Chinese liquor products competed as an independent variety. A total of 552 liquor products participated in the competition and won 8 platinum medals, 81 gold medals, and 80 silver medals. Eleven liquor products of VATS Group were listed, and eight of them, including “Lidu Sorghum Liquor 1955” and “53-degree Feitian Moutai” produced by Lidu Liquor received the highest awards of this competition - the platinum medals; “Kaikouxiao 15 Years” produced by Hunan Xiangjiao Liquor Co., Ltd., “Xiangshan Laotan 15 Years” produced by Guilin Xiangshan Distillery Co., Ltd., “Linshui 10 Years” produced by Anhui Linshui Liquor Co., Ltd., “Fujiu 100% Vintage” produced by Sichuan Jinliufu, and “Rare Distillate ? Cellaring Liquor 2009” produced by Guizhou Rare Distillate Liquor Co., Ltd., together with “Shede Liquor” produced by Tuopai Group, won the gold medals of the competition; “China Yuquan Liquor” and “Yuquan Vintage Liquor 15 Years” produced by Heilongjiang Yuquan Liquor Co., Ltd., “Yanfeng Jiaoxin 15 Years” and “Yanfengwang Xiaowang” produced by Hengyang Yanfeng Liquor Co., Ltd., and “Linshui Yuquan Vintage Liquor 20 Years” produced by Anhui Linshui Liquor Co., Ltd., together with “Tianzhilan”, “Luzhou Laojiao Tequ Liquor” and “Xifeng Liquor” won the silver medals.
The Brussels (Belgium) International Spirits Competition was founded by Louis Havel, “a world wine reporter and chairman of Columnist Alliance”, on an annual basis, in Brussels, Belgium, in 1994. The Brussels (Belgium) International Spirits Competition is one of the three major worldwide liquor events that has the largest scale, most participating manufacturers, most scientific, fair and professional review mechanism, and most prestigious wine masters. It is known as the “Oscar of Spirits”. The 2015 (Guiyang) Brussels (Belgium) International Spirits Competition, under the theme of “indulging Guizhou in world spirits and savoring the world with Chinese liquors”, attracted 1,397 liquor products from 44 countries and regions. So far, it has been the competition that has the most countries involved, most competing products, most judges, and largest scale.
