A few days ago, the cooperative chateau project of the Group and French Moet Hennessy commenced construction in Adong Village, Shengping Town, Deqin County, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

In the dry and hot river valley areas with an altitude of 1,800-2,800m along the Lantsang River and Jinsha River within Deqin County, temperature varies greatly between day and night, light is adequate and transmittance is high, and sandy soil has moderate fertility. Unique natural environment and climate conditions are very suitable for development of wine grape industry. As early as 2000, Shangri-La Distillery under the Group settled on this treasured place and began to plant wine grapes with Cabernet Sauvignon as the main variety and brew Shangri-La wine here.
Good wine needs no bush. Shangri-La wine and Deqin producing area attracted attention from lots of people including Bei Jingkang, the Asia Pacific Managing Director of Moet Hennessy. In 2010, he brought devices to Deqin producing area for observation and measurement of many aspects like climate, geological environment and soil, and loved this place very much. On February 23, 2012, Moet Hennessy and Shangri-La Distillery under the Group signed the agreement on co-establishing a first-class top chateau in the world.
It is known that about 30 hectares of grapes will be planted in a plateau vineyard with an altitude of 2,500m, and a first-class top chateau with an area of 4.8 hectares will be established, to produce 12,000 international standard containers of high-end wine every year.
