4,122 Allies Signed in Over 11 Speech Events
On May 21, “Liquor Alliance” initiated by Wu Xiangdong, Chairman of VATS Group and founder of Jindong Capital, came to Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and attracted nearly 360 dealers whose sales were over RMB 10 million to attend “Internet of Chinese Liquor Alliance + Seminar”. 348 of the dealers, or 97% of the total participants, chose to sign in.
Since the first “Internet of Chinese Liquor Alliance + Seminar” was held in Hunan on January 10 this year, this event has been held successfully for 11 times around the country and has attracted 4122 allies in total. Nine will be held in the coming three months, with the next stop in Tianjin.
As the chairman of “Chinese Liquor Alliance”, Wu Xiangdong delivered a speech that lasted for more than 4 hours. The participants discussed about the construction of a “new community” and reached a consensus that the future competition would take place in “tribes”.
At the seminar, Wu Xiangdong explained the core mission of “Chinese Liquor Alliance”. After allying with dealers whose sales were over RMB 10 million, “Chinese Liquor Alliance” would become a more closely linked organization in building an efficient “new community” to carry out B2B and O2O business of FMCG. It will carry out crowd-funding business leveraging the platform, make foreign investments, and share new economic bonus of the capital market.
At the seminar, Wu Xiangdong again stressed the importance of constructing a tribe. A group of people become associated with each other under the guidance of a chief and gather with the same idea to form a tribe. Confronted with the complex new economic society, allies of “Chinese Liquor Alliance” need to become the chiefs who serve in a successfully tribal organization closely linked with them. They need to have the power of “rallying multitudes at their calls” and each of them must pay attention to such “calls”, which should be goodwill, prudent, and consistent with their hearts. Future competition does not take place in the market but between tribes.
Many dealers agreed with the “tribe” concept proposed by Wu Xiangdong. Mr. Yang, a dealer from Cangzhou, said, “With the gradual penetration of the Internet, traditional dealers find it harder and harder to do business. We are trapped in a conflict. We are hit by the Internet on the one hand, and have expectations about it on the other. However, individual dealers will find it difficult to make transition to the Internet. After hearing the speech of Wu Xiangdong, I am suddenly enlightened. He inspires me and many peers who share the same confusion. It is no exaggeration to say that attending this seminar is the best decision I have made over the past year.”
It is understood that this national seminar has received wide attention from the industry and the media. Local dealers took active part in it and chose to sign in with high enthusiasm. There were two reasons. On the one hand, Wu Xiangdong’s prediction of the current status and future development of the liquor industry was acknowledged; on the other hand, “Chinese Liquor Alliance” works to deeply integrate the traditional liquor industry and open up the supply chain for the purpose of online integration, which has won wide recognition among the dealers.
