On May 13, “Liquor Alliance” initiated by Wu Xiangdong, Chairman of VATS Group and founder of Jindong Capital, came to Zhengzhou, and attracted 441 dealers coming from across Henan Province to attend “Internet of Chinese Liquor Alliance + Seminar” in which they discussed the future development trends and prospects of the liquor industry. Of them, 418, or 95%, chose to sign in. So far, nine events of “Liquor Alliance” have been held successfully in the country and attracted 3,490 allies in total.

Speaking of the current development of “Liquor Alliance”, Wu Xiangdong said at the seminar that it is moving fast in the right direction. Allies provided full support for the entry of new dealers and the subsequent establishment of community. He believed that the building of the “No. 1 ecosystem in the liquor industry” would be quickened with the entry of more allies.

At the seminar, Wu Xiangdong reaffirmed the concept of “tribe” and introduced the formula “tribe = chief + followers” in his keynote address. He said that the emergence of tribe was associated with beliefs and ideas and that a tribe lived on the mutual respect and recognition between the chief and members. The personal clout and positive attitude of the chief would affect the development trends and speed of the whole tribe. A tribe was not completely isolated and different tribes maintained certain spontaneous competition and cooperation. Tribes built on these relationships would develop strongly interactive and unique competitive edge. He also said that the dynamic market kept encouraging the force of agglomeration and individual effort often became insignificant when compared to collective effort. When an individual was a part of a tribe or leads it, he would get more support and help and thus work more efficiently and enjoyably.

“Goodwill + mutual care + frequent communication + sincere heart = successful leader.” Wu Xiangdong further explained that a sincere heart meant firm belief, positive attitude, tolerance and goodwill. A sincere heart, coupled with frequent inter- and intra-tribe communication, would make successful leader.

An industry source said that the several rounds of reforms in the liquor industry showed that the real dominant force of channel transformation did not come from upstream businesses, downstream ends or even consumers because they could only influence and verify the reforms. The real force came from the channel itself. This was exactly why the dealers were very positive about the future development of “Liquor Alliance”.
