Inaugurated Yanfeng’s Storage Cellar and Hot Sale of Jar-sealed Liquor

“Sealed on January 21, 2015” On January 21, a consumer solemnly stuck the seal on the lid of the ordered Jar-sealed Yanfeng Protoplasmic Liquor; from then on he owned his private good liquor. On that day, the First Jar Sealing Ceremony in Yanfeng Storage Cellar came off grandly in South Central China. The consumers eagerly placed orders for the 1000 jars of Jar-sealed Protoplasmic Liquor carefully prepared by Yanfeng Liquor Company.


“Three Treasures” in Yanfeng Liquor Company

The Jar-sealed Protoplasmic Liquor launched by Yanfeng Liquor Company belongs to strategic products with high collection and investment value. The Liquor has two specifications of 25kg and 50kg, both adopt top-level liquor made in aged pits of Yanfeng 1958, sophisticatedly mixed by national-level liquor makers, and finally sealed by top grade porcelain jars of Royal Kiln in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province.

The “First Treasure” lies in the aged pits clusters. Yanfeng Liquor Company boasts 126 aged pits over 50 years. Currently, these pits also belong to the only modern industrial heritage conservation unit in Hengyang City. Chairman Tan Kehong said: “If liquor making is stopped in these pits, hundreds of beneficial microorganisms in the pit mud will die of nutritional deficiency, and the pits will lose their lives. But the fact is, the aged pits clusters of Yanfeng 1958 have never stopped liquor making. From this point of view, these pits are living cultural relics.”


The “Second Treasure” goes to Yanfeng’s liquor making processes. Through generations of heritage originated from the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, Yanfeng’s liquor making processes have totally retained distinctively traditional processes of grinding, good blending of water and microorganisms, correct body movements, liquor judgment, five times of liquor steaming and fermented grains matching, and newly added processes of slow fermentation at low temperature, segmented liquor taking, jar holding and storage according to quality through improved scientific technology. In December 2009, Yanfeng’s liquor making processes were included into the Nonmaterial Cultural Heritage List of Hengyang Municipal Government.

The “Third Treasure” is the Yanfeng’s Storage Cellar. Established in 1950s, it is a treasure for natural liquor storage and possesses genes for making top good liquor in Yanfeng Liquor Company due to its constant temperature and humidity. At present, the Storage Cellar sealed half a century has gorgeously become “The First Storage Cellar in Yanfeng of South Central China” under the dedicated efforts of Yanfeng people. The two-storeyed Storage Cellar has an area of 2000 square meters, which is the largest one in South Central China and also quite rare across China.

Good Liquor in Insufficient Supply


The liquor jar is sealed by bright red silk at the top and the container is made of blue and white porcelain. In “The First Storage Cellar in Yanfeng of South Central China”, the “Designation Cards” including names and telephones of those placing orders have been labeled on many liquor jars, meaning “Liquor Taken”.

Mr. Tan Kehong introduced Yanfeng Liquor Company would provide dedicated services for customers; each one placing an order would own a Collection Certificate; and the customers who ordered the Jar-sealed Liquor during promotion period would enjoy three years of free storage services in the Storage Cellar, meanwhile Yanfeng Liquor Company would offer daily maintenance by specialists and paid storage services after three years; the Liquor Company would also provide sub-packaged liquor in different capacity for separate taking and drinking according to customer demands.

This liquor is quite precious due to limited sales. One consumer planned to seal 50 jars but actually 80 jars. He said drinking such good liquor was a great pleasure for himself or relatives and friends, and also a dignified thing at dinners for birthdays and marriages.
